Bio
Ross Baumgardner is a Juris Doctor and Master of Public Health candidate at the University of North Dakota, with a strong foundation in law, education, and the arts. A former public school orchestra teacher, Ross brings nearly a decade of experience in curriculum development, program leadership, and community engagement. He served as a Steiger Fellow with the North Dakota Attorney General’s Antitrust Division during the summer of 2025.

Ross holds an advanced degree in Educational Leadership, and has been recognized for both academic and pedagogical excellence. He is also an accomplished violinist and pianist, having performed as a soloist and orchestral leader. He studied violin with Jane Linde Capistran, Benjamin Sung, Jon Rumney, and piano with Susan Nagel, David Worth, Grigor Khachatryan, and Nariaki Sugiura. In addition, he has performed as a rostered member with the Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra and the Minot Symphony Orchestra, as well as a guest or substitute musician in several midwest community orchestras. Ross is sought after as a violin, piano, and chamber music instructor. His students regularly place and win in regional competitions, including North Dakota All-State Orchestra and concerto competitions. ​Beyond his legal and musical pursuits, Ross is a dedicated martial arts instructor, volunteer for Type 1 Diabetes causes, and has published on the intersection of music and soft skill development. His interdisciplinary approach reflects a lifelong commitment to service, education, and personal excellence.
